I Say My Prayers -- Bereavement Photography

Inspiration

I am a professional photographer, specializing in capturing precious moments in time. Not only do I focus my career on children, family and wedding photography but I also feel led to provide additional services to families who are experiencing the challenges of having a child with a life-threatening illness.

I have created this website – I Say My Prayers – because of a little angel that guided me in this direction. My gift of photography allows me to give back to others by capturing memories that can never be replaced. I spent several years studying children with special needs whether it was a life-long disability or a terminal illness. I got to experience first hand the positive outlook on life that these little angels get to pass on to all the people who enter their world. I did not realize at the time that God was "training" me to be a good Mommy to Ashley and Grant who have special needs as well as to Brooke who will forever have not one but two siblings with special needs...which is a whole other task in itself.

As I was pondering the whole concept of combining my experiences, education and talent to help give back, I discovered bereavement photography. The night I decided I wanted to get involved with this, I was rocking Grant to sleep and he sat straight up, looked me in the eye and said -- and keep in mind that at the time, Grant didn't look anyone in the eye and he communicated very little -- "W W W dot I Say My Prayers dot com." I knew right then that was going to be the name I was going to use for this part of my business.

In everything we do we try to show that we are true ministers of God. We patiently endure troubles and hardships and calamities of every kind. [2 Corinthians 6:4]
